Social Media Manager @ Paradigm PR with Sophie Cugliari

Social Media Manager @ Paradigm PR with Sophie Cugliari

Sophie and Blair discuss the importance of tracking your on-the-job “wins” as they happen, working with a recruiter as part of your job search; and, why it’s important to believe that you own your seat at the table.

About Sophie Cugliari

Sophie is a Social Media Manager at Paradigm Public Relations where she manages the social media accounts for Bulldog Skincare, Cremo, Banana Boat, Hawaiian Tropic, and Schick: Master brand, Intuition, and Hydro Silk. Prior to that, she worked at JLM Strategic Marketing, a boutique marketing agency specializing in experiences. Events included the Elevate conference, a drone show, and even a VIP celebration with Fred VanVleet. Her strengths include website development, social media, strategic planning, relationship building, influencer work, and event planning and execution.

The Highlights and Hottest Takes 🔥

How Sophie Got the Job

A recruiter hired by Paradigm Public Relations reached out to Sophie on LinkedIn. She sent her resume for the role. The recruiter liaised with the client to set up interviews. Sophie was asked to create some social post examples as “homework” after the interviews. Then she got the job offer.

Mistake Made

Being afraid to share. “You have a seat at the table, own your seat. Believe in putting your ideas out there.” There’s a bit of Imposter Syndrome in this.

Lesson Learned

Don’t pigeonhole yourself. “Say Yes to opportunities.” I didn’t expect to work in experiential events or public relations.

Pro Tip

Track your job accomplishments when they happen. Write them down in the moment when it’s top of mind. Use them on your resume and as talking points in an interview.

“When you’re measuring/analyzing for work, report it to yourself as well”
