🔥 Highlights and Hot Takes

How They Got the Job

Planning and executing her Hire Asmita campaign, where Asmita quantified some key achievements and pulled it together in a portfolio (in PDF format) and a ‘Visume’ (her video resume/introduction). When she was ready, Asmita reached out to targeted people in agencies on LinkedIn, sharing her marketing communication pieces, and she asked for a job.

“It wasn’t easy, but I treated it like a campaign. I started planning it for 5 months before applying.”

Mistake Made

Not accepting responsibility for a mistake. Forgot to make a social post for a client. Didn’t own the error.

Lesson Learned

Never think from the product perspective, it’s about your customer. This is the number 1 rule of marketing.

“Always have a customer-first approach. If you care about your customers, they’re more likely to care for your product.”

Pro Tip

Ask as many questions as you can. Our ego gets in the way of us asking (for help). “It’s smarter to look like an idiot at the beginning of a new job/role.”
